Delft Porceletti ceramic Brooch with Silver mounts by GJ Van den Bergh Jr. 1950s
This sale is for a delightful mid to late 1950s Dutch DELFT ceramic brooch with silver mounts. The curved brooch was crafted and handpainted by the Porcelleti Art Studio in Gouda and depicts a traditional Windmill scene. There is a small curved crack which I believe been there for a few decades (see Pictures. The silver mount is stamped on the Clasp with GB5 in a cartouche and .835 with a sword. (Too small to photograph) The inner mount tests as silver plate it is the actual base mount and clasp that are silver.
‘Kunstatelier Porceletti’ (the Porceletti Art Studio) was founded by Dick Olthuysen in Gouda in around 1952. They can be viewed as ‘The Last of the Specialists’.
Sword hallmark of 835. GB5 – G.J. van den Bergh Jr., 1949-1981
Delft jewellery typically is a marriage of Schoonhoven silver, and blue Delft pottery inserts from the Gouda region
