Very unusual SS ‘Arbeitsausweis’,Pass intended as ID for forced workers. This was for a Siegmund Dorosz whose Profession: was an Electrician/Locksmith. Fully stamped until 1942 (see photos). including German eagle and authoritative signatures. The facility he worked at was believed to have repaired German Tanks for the fight against The Soviet Union and was nearby to the concentration camp of Soldau (see below and all photos) . The pass is 14.5cm x 10cm when closed and 14.5cm x 40cm when fully extended. . Rare and interesting original piece of history! The joins have been taped at a later stage to protect it from ripping. Ciechanów was captured by the Wehrmacht on the night of September 3/4, 1939. The town was annexed by Nazi Germany and was known as Zichenau in German. It was the capital of Regierungsbezirk Zichenau, a new subdivision of the Province of East Prussia. On January 17, 1945, Ciechanów was captured by the Red Army, and was restored to Poland after the war. World War II In the opening stages of World War II, the advancing German army faced strong resistance from the Polish Army in the battle of Mława otherwise known as the Defence of the Mława between September 1 and September 3, 1939. Shortly after the beginning of the occupation of Poland, Mława was annexed to Nazi Germany on 26 October 1939 and administered as part of Regierungsbezirk Zichenau. The town (known as Mielau in German) gave its name to the Truppenübungsplatz “Mielau” military training range built by prisoners of the Soldau concentration camp nearby and nicknamed the New Berlin. The facility was used by the Nazis for repairing and refitting army tanks in Operation Barbarossa, and for testing anti-tank weapons and artillery on an area of 300 square kilometres (120 sq mi). Some fifteen villages around Krzywonoś were completely dismantled to make room for it and 25,000 people were expelled in the area. Similar Nazi German military ranges in occupied Poland included the SS-Truppenübungsplatz Heidelager located in Pustków, Podkarpackie Voivodeship and the SS-Truppenübungsplatz Westpreußen located in Dziemiany. Payment window. I require payment within 7 days of the auction or sale ending. Please send postal orders or  bankers drafts immediately to ensure to get them to me on time. If you wish to collect and pay cash you must do so within 7 days. 

 Unpaid item process. Customers receive a winning bid email containing the payment due and all the information needed to pay immediately after the auction closes. After 3 days I may send a payment reminder. After 7 days a payment dispute is opened to resolve the issue of non-payment. Once 7 days have passed I may resell or relist any items which have not been paid for without notification.

 Payment in full. I cannot release items unless they are paid for in full including any applicable collection charges, delivery charges or storage fees.

Returns & Refunds

30 day limit. Any claims for returns & refunds must be made within 30 days of receipt and prior to feedback being left.  Material difference. Refunds can only be processed where an item, on leaving my premises, materially differs from that outlined in our listing. By “material difference” Imean a clear listing error, or misrepresentation, which in my opinion materially affects the item’s value. Loss or damage during shipping is not grounds for a refund from CHAFFER Antiques  Refund process. Refunds are only issued once an item has been returned and checked against the claim. Where I have made an error, I will process a full refund. Buyer  is responsible for Return postage. I may choose to pay your return postage costs but I am not obliged to do this. I will only refund return postage charges authorised by me. Items should be returned using the packing materials in which they were sent. Items not returnable. If an item is returned without appropriate grounds, I am not obliged to give a refund. In the event I refuse a refund, the customer must pay a further postage charge if they wish to have the item back. Failure to pay this charge within 14 days may result in the item being resold to cover my costs. My  liability.
